A booth for every small decision

Coinroll is a set of six small random pickers: a name wheel, a coin, dice, a number drum, a team maker and a yes-or-no sign. Each one opens instantly, works on a phone or a classroom projector, and keeps your lists in your own browser.

Every result comes from crypto.getRandomValues, the same random source browsers use for security, with rejection sampling so no name, face or number is ever favoured.

How it works

  1. Type or paste names, one per line. Pasted a messy list from a spreadsheet or a chat? Press Clean up to strip numbering, bullets, blank lines and duplicates.
  2. Press Spin, tap the wheel, or press the space bar while the wheel is focused.
  3. Read the winner on the ticket. Tick “Remove winner” to draw each name only once; “Put back” undoes the last removal.
  4. Press Share list to copy a link that opens this wheel with the same names, or Classroom mode to fill a projector screen.

Questions

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. The winning slice is chosen before the wheel moves, with your browser's cryptographic random generator and rejection sampling, so every slice has exactly the chance its size shows. The spin animation only reveals the result.

Can I make one name more likely?

Yes: add *2, *3 and so on after the name (up to *20). The slice grows to match, so what you see is the real chance.

How many names can I add?

Up to 500. Past about 60 names the labels get small, so the winner is always repeated in large type next to the wheel.

Can I share the wheel with my class?

Press Share list and send the link. The names travel inside the link itself; nothing is uploaded or stored on a server.

Are my names saved?

They stay in this browser only (localStorage), so the list is still there next time. Clearing the site data removes them.

Does it work offline?

Once you have opened Coinroll, the pickers keep working without a connection, and you can install it as an app from the browser menu.
